Paul Johnson, born Dundalk Co Louth Ireland. Paul was trained in the Cotswold area of central England by Master thatcher Perry Smith in 1990 and has practised his trade in both England and Ireland. He currently works from Co Clare in the West of Ireland.
Paul specialises in Reed and Straw scollop thatching in the modern and also traditional methods. Coatwork ,either screw fixed or scollop fixed and ridges using traditional straw Bobbins or straw wrapover with decorative hazel pattern work. He is registered with the Dept of environment and Heritage council for Grant and listed building thatch restoration.

We currently have a team of 5 trained thatchers working , all with Safe Passes and fully insured for Public liability and employee cover. This ensures NO RISK to the client should there be an accident on site.
With a team of 5 thatchers all jobs can be completed at a very professional level and with a very quick turn - around, typically 3 _ 4 weeks for an irish cottage fully rethatched and ridged.
